Roti Canai Kayu Arang - Bachang, Melaka


Roti canai - one of the Malaysian favorite breakfast or supper or even a tea break! This is the stall specialty, namely Roti Canai Kayu Arang because the roti canai toasted on the huge pan, top of kayu arang (charcoal) flame. There are 2 huge pans with 2 tables of roti canai maker. The charcoal flame make it tastier, nicer than normal gas toast. The pan also used to fry eggs as well or making a shaking egg (half fried egg). The stall serves variety of roti canai such as roti tampal (roti canai pasted with egg), roti telur (an egg wrapped roti canai) and etc. You also can have nasi lemak and variety of traditional kuih-muih.

Mak Teh Mee Banjir Udang, Jalan Kuala Sepetang, Taiping





For those prawn lovers would love this prawn noodle stall because the bowl is more prawns than the noodle. Mee Banjir Udang (full of prawns noodle), so the stall is called by its owner, Mak Teh (“Mak” is Malay family salutation for auntie (“makcik”), auntie Teh). If you drive through the Jalan Kuala Sepetang, you would come across several prawn noodle stalls with names of Mak Jah, Mak Teh, Kak Jah, etc., no wonder Kuala Sepetang is famous of prawn noodle!
