Super Powers of Spider Silk

What surprised me this morning was the breaking news that came across of my screen from Yahoo News UK and Ireland edition posted Super Power found in spider silk. The headlines made my attention until I read further and it claims that scientist had unravelled the secrets of spider silk which stronger and less brittle than steel.
I just smiled by myself after read further from the article and knew that our folks had discovered this very long time ago. I still remember when I was a kid, when we had rough playground or games we used to injure ourselves with small cut and bleed. Our mind used to be advised by the folks to tear some of the spider egg nest on the ghok or bawoh lambo and put it in our wound. It helped stop the bleed and quickly recover the wound. Yes it worked, try it but at your own risk if get other consequences or infection.

Come to my mind, if we had our scientist look at this before or may be there are many more old folks advice that are really something behind. There are always good or bad reasons behind of those old folks advice or pantang larang tok nenek!
